Information for Medical Practitioners and GPs

At Cardiac Care Queensland (CCQ), we provide specialist assessment and management for patients requiring cardiac care.

Our team, led by Dr Ryan Markham, an interventional cardiologist, offers diagnostic evaluation and treatment for ischaemic heart disease, valvular heart disease, and structural heart conditions.

We offer in-room cardiac testing and interventional procedures at our Spring Hill and Greenslopes locations. Our goal is to support general practitioners and referring specialists by providing personalised cardiology care in Brisbane.

Referring a patient to Cardiac Care Queensland is a straightforward process. We accept GP referrals via our Referral Form.

If a patient requires consultation with a heart specialist in Brisbane, GPs can complete a cardiologist referral form or contact our team for more information.

Conditions We Treat & Tests We Perform

Dr Ryan Markham specialises in the management of ischaemic and valvular heart disease, and offers testing and treatment for a range of cardiac conditions, based on individual patient needs.

General Cardiology

Including chest discomfort, shortness of breath, and elevated calcium scores.

Coronary Artery Disease (CAD)

Diagnosis through stress testing and coronary angiography, with treatment options including percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).

Aortic Stenosis

Assessment and management, including transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) where clinically appropriate.

Structural Heart Disease

Including conditions such as mitral valve regurgitation, atrial septal defect (ASD), and patent foramen ovale (PFO).

Stress Testing

Used to assess myocardial function under exertion, aiding in the diagnosis of coronary artery disease, arrhythmias, and exercise-induced symptoms.

Echocardiography

Non-invasive imaging to evaluate cardiac structure, valve function, and ventricular performance, assisting in the diagnosis of heart failure and valvular heart disease.

Holter Monitor

Continuous ECG monitoring over 24 to 48 hours to detect arrhythmias and assess unexplained palpitations, dizziness, or syncope.

CT Coronary Angiogram

High-resolution imaging to evaluate coronary artery stenosis, plaque burden, and risk stratification in patients with suspected coronary artery disease.
